To
Know
God
If you are here and you don’t know God, please take a moment to read. You may have felt like God is distant or unknowable. Maybe you have been curious about Him and searching for Him. Be assured of this, God has searched for you and longs to reveal Himself to you.

The Bible teaches us that God is love (1 John 4:16). God loved you before you even knew Him or thought of Him. In John 1:5, the Bible speaking of Jesus says, “And the light shines in the darkness.” Everyone of us that is apart from God is in darkness. The Bible teaches that “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). However, even though we were in the darkness of our sin and separation from God, God pursued us.

John 1:14 says, “And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” We see here that God came and manifested himself in the flesh, Jesus, to show us Himself.

God had a plan for His Son Jesus to come to the earth. John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God wants to save you. He wants you to know Him.

In Romans 5:8 we learn, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” It was at the cross that Jesus demonstrated His love for us. This was not while we were good enough or could earn God’s love but while we were in a place of sin. This shows us that God’s love is truly unconditional. He loves us because He is love.

Ephesians 2:8 teaches, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.” We can be saved from our sin. We can be saved from the darkness and pain in our life. And we don’t have to do anything to earn it. This salvation is a gift of God. It’s simple really. When you realize that you have a need for Jesus, that He died for you and that you receive Him, you can be saved. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

If you want God to save you and have decided to surrender your life to Him, please pray this prayer:

"God, I give you my life. I surrender to you. I believe that Jesus came to earth, died and rose again. Please forgive me for my sins. I believe in you and I accept you as Lord of my life."

Remember this is a first step in following Jesus. New life begins here, but you must choose to make Jesus the Lord and leader of your life. You now have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
