Welcome to Jesus First
Jesus First is a church family and a gathering of ministries. I have asked a few of our co-ministry team leaders to write a short summary of their vision for serving God at Jesus First. I would like this booklet to give you a clear idea of how we are organized. God is working directly with moms and dads, business men and women and even youth. These are people just like you and me. Alone, we may be able to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ with a few and even make a name for ourselves. But working together as a team, concerned not for who gets the credit, we can see hundreds and maybe even thousands come to the saving grace of knowing Jesus Christ.

It is amazing what a team of gifted believers can do when all the credit and glory is directed to the one who made all of this possible in the first place; Jesus Christ! Keep in mind, that I did not ask any of these groups to write down what they understand I want them to do. That would not be biblical. That would be corporate. Rather, I have asked them to write down the things God has spoken to them to do.

Our team of co-ministry leaders is unique because just like you, after God forms us and places us in our mother’s womb, he destroys the mold. That’s right, you too are unique. So if I encourage my co-ministry leaders to write down what God has spoken to them, then as a church family, we will be touched by some of the most creative and God centered ministry available in a church today.

I once was asked why I had not appointing a prayer leader for our new church. Here’s the answer. I believe that it is God who appoints leaders in His church and not me. It’s that simple.

Jesus asked Peter three times; “Do you love Me?” Peter answered three times that in fact, he did love Jesus. Jesus followed each time with this, “Then feed MY sheep.” The key focus in his answer was “MY” sheep. In other words, all of these co-ministry leaders and all of the other members of Jesus First belong to Jesus Christ. Your times are in His hands.

Here is something else to think about. If the family of Christ does not belong to Peter then they don’t belong to any other pastor or church either. Simply put, all Christians belong to Jesus Christ. He paid the ransom with His own blood. Therefore, our times are in His hands. The Bible says that it is God who adds to His church. Week after week, God continues to add to this church. Some are mature and others are just getting started. But regardless of where you are, Jesus First has a place for you.

Ministry comes from the body and not merely the pulpit. It is my responsibility to help you prepare for ministry. That is the biblical model of the New Testament church. We have a young, thriving and growing church. Please read about what God has already done through us in such a short period of time. Then pray and obey what the Spirit of God speaks to your heart. You need to be in the Church family that God has ordained for you. In the right Church, you will be like a tree planted by living waters. To God be the glory.

We would love to help you walk your walk of faith through Prayer, Worship and Word. The bible says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Come and let God put an edge on the ministry within you by making Jesus First in every area of your life.

God bless and keep you,

Dr. Mark K. Mullaney
